Lift Planning
We provide lift plans for your complex lifts to ensure the correct crane can perform the lift safely. Meticulous planning of the site layout, rigging gear and the object to be lifted are input into the program which then calculates the crane lift radius capacity. Plans are developed for both pick and place radius.
Our precise lift studies take the difficulty and risk out of a complex lift. This is invaluable for safety studies, obtaining council permits and guiding engineering requirements. Whether a job involves a crane with intricate rigging, is in a confined space, or contains a huge load, we can provide all maximum outrigger load calculations for geo-technical engineer review.
- CRANE HIRE & RIGGING
The range of mobile cranes for hire from our Burnie depot allow us to tailor a solution to suit your project’s specific needs. Billing Cranes are able to manage your lift from conception to fruition including supply of riggers to complete the work safely.
- ELEVATED WORK PLATFORMS
We can provide either suspended or fixed manboxes. We can lift personnel in a fixed manbox or lower personnel with a suspended manbox. Lanyards and harnesses can be supplied.
- PICKUP AND CARRY
We can use our jacks, skates, come-alongs and winch truck if required. We are ideally geared to relocate large equipment such as lathes, milling machines, presses or transformers.
- RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL
If you are installing a swimming pool, lifting an entire house or require access for roof maintenance or replacement we are happy to come to your site to see what we can do to help.
- MINING INDUSTRY
We can provide cranes that are ideal for working in restricted areas with various lifting capacities. We provide services for the major players including Grange Resources and MMG Mining.
- WINDFARM MAINTENANCE
Our cranes can reach dizzying heights with various lifting capacities ideal for windfarm maintenance and similar extreme elevations. We provide services for Vestas and Woolnorth Wind.

Greg Billing has been in the Mobile Crane industry since 1980. In that time he has built up a vast knowledge to become a respected leader in the Tasmanian crane industry.
Greg and his wife Leanne have built a strong family owned business and are proud to be 100% Tasmanian. Based in Burnie, Billing Cranes boasts modern workshop and office facilities which provide invaluable support for their crane and transport fleet.
